YOUR BENEVOLENCE CONTRIBUTIONS AT WORK:
Look for upcoming information about where your benevolence dollars go locally and internationally. You will be amazed to know what your contributions can do. We will be working on a goal this year of making everyone a Paul Harris Fellow.
Sorry I haven’t sent or received any emails for the past few weeks. Unfortunately, my computer was overtaken with pop-ups and we couldn’t seem to get it cleaned up. We think we finally have the problem solved so I can continue with my work. I hope I didn’t miss anything too important. If you sent me an email that you wanted a response to and I haven’t, please let me know.
Margaret

PROGRAM FEATURES............

July 7 – Outgoing President Charlie Chatham recounted Stratford Rotary’s achievements for the past year and congratulated the club for a job well done. Charlie turned the gavel over to President Bobby Sprinkle. Bobby thanked Charlie for all of his work this past year and presented Charlie with a gift and a Past President’s Pin. After the presentation Lee Smith, Manager of Forsyth Country Club brought us a few brief words about Forsyth and their plans. He thanked Stratford Rotary For allowing Forsyth to serve us.

July 14 – Skip Brown, former basketball star at Wake Forest, talked about his road from basketball to banking. Mr. Brown was quite entertaining talking about his escapades in basketball. The highlight of his life was when his jersey was retired at Wake Forest. His career in banking has been just impressive as his basketball career. He has enjoyed his life and would do everything all over again.

July 21 – Ben Salt, Political Liaison with the Chamber of Commerce talked to us today. Mr. Salt recounted his early days in Wake Forest campus radio to television reporting, from small time to big time. After years in the business he decided that he needed to try something else. He has enjoyed his work at the Chamber and feels he is making a difference in the community.

July 28 – Our speaker today, Dr. Ajay Patel, Dean of the Babcock School of Business, Wake Forest University was very knowledgeable and informative in his talk. Dr. Patel led us through several scenarios of families and business and how we can better prepare for the future. He talked about the mission of the Business School and what he tries to teach. We need to better prepare our young people for the jobs that cannot be outsourced and to be bolder in their thinking.
