ANNOUNCEMENTS, NEWS & INFORMATION................

Remember…….. April 19 will be such a special program that we thought members might want to bring their spouse or guest that day. NCSA Chancellor John Maucheri and Dean of Drama Gerald Freedman will be here with cast members from “West Side Story” to give us a taste of their production. I will have a signup sheet at the next meeting or you may call me at 784-8667 to sign up you guest. We need to let Forsyth Country Club know of our numbers. If you signed up at the April 5th meeting please sign up again or call me. Some of the sheets were left on the table and thrown away.
Keep an ear out…There is another great evening at River Birch Restaurant in the making. We will tell you the date later.

Do You See Your Name?........if you don’t, you should. The Board feels that maybe our members have come to a wrong conclusion that attendance doesn’t matter any more. Although the emphasis on attendance was relaxed a little, the 60% attendance rule still applies. I have been with Stratford Rotary 15 years this week and I turned in the lowest attendance percentage for the month of March in all the years I have been here. The Club attendance percentage for March was 44%.

We have 112 Active members, 12 Senior Active members and 5 Honorary members. Only the attendance for the Active members counts for District reports. Of the 112 Active members, 11 have 0%, 10 have 10%, 9 have 20%,10 have 30%, 14 have 40% and 23 have 50%

Congratulations to the members listed below. Their attendance for the past quarter (January, February March) was 60% or above. If you don’t see your name, think about it!

PROGRAM FEATURES............
March 29 - Dr Vaughn McCall, Head of the Department of Psychiatry at WFUBMC. Dr. McCall brought us a very interesting and informative talk about “What Exactly Scientology has to say about Psychiatry and Psychology”. There was so much information passed along that it was so interesting that sometimes I forgot to write it down. You should have been there!

March 22 – The Group Study Exchange Team from Scotland brought us “A Taste of Scotland” today. Rotarian Harry Marsh leads the team: the members are Gavin Ferguson, Kevin Hughes, Luke Greaves and Simon Phillips. From the very earliest days of North Carolina’s history there have been strong links with Scotland. First, with early settlers who emigrated from Scotland to America and helped to pioneer and develop the “new world” and later, the import/export between our two countries. Since those early days, trade and cultural exchange has not diminished. Trade has now moved up a gear into the high tech and computer industry. The Group Study Exchange program is another step in that development and it is the mission of the program “To establish strong links and enduring friendships that will facilitate cultural and business exchange for years to come”.
