PROGRAM FEATURES............
June 28 - Outgoing President Jay Luke thanked the club for their support last year recounted some of the major highlights. We started the year with 131 members and ended the year with 129 members. Stratford Rotary Club remained a 100% sustaining club with the Rotary Foundation which means we gave the Foundation $100 per member for a total of $12,900. We also participated in an International Project donating 43,000 to dig clean water wells for orphanages in Africa; we awarded four $2,500 scholarships to high school seniors. In keeping with our youth focus, we continued to support Kimberly Park Elementary School by donating $800 to the school for supplies and presenting 32 fifth graders with a book bag filled with supplies needed for middle school. We also rewarded the Teacher of the Year with a gift certificate and made a donation to the school library to buy books in her honor. We also rang the bells for Salvation Army this year. Jay passed the gavel to incoming President Jeff Clark. President Jeff took the gavel and thanked Jay for all his hard work this year. Jeff presented Jay with a diamond Past President’s pin and an engraved Rosewood Desk Box as a token of the Club’s appreciation. President Jeff told the Club his plans for the upcoming year. His goal is to improve our membership and attendance. He would like to see the Club be more involved and have fun doing it.
July 12 – Our own Jimmy Flythe spoke to us today and gave us an overview of “Developing a Sustainable Energy Future”. He also gave us tips on keeping cool and comfortable in the summer and watching our electricity usage
