PROGRAM FEATURES............

August 2 – Phyllis Shore, Executive Director Homestead Hills Retirement Community and Penny Redding and Vickie Kimel talked to us about planning forour retirement living. Senior citizens are living longer today and can’t always remain in their own homes. In retirement communities there are different levels of living such as independent living, assisted living and full care. We need to be well informed about the process of making these decisions and make plans.

August 9 – John DeLong, Sports Writer for the Winston-Salem Journal, entertained us today with tales about his encounters with different sports figures. Some of his favorite figures who are just what they seem and who he truly respects are Jake Delhome, Panthers, Jim Grobe, Wake Forest, Dave Cowns, Hornets, Big House Gaines and Steven Smith from WSSU.

August 16 – Chris Spence talked to us today about Donald Ross famous golf course designer and his own experience in restoring golf courses designed by Mr. Ross. Mr. Ross came to the USA from Scotland. In his golf courses everything had a purpose and there was a strategy he used that made playing his courses interesting. He had an understanding of the psychology of the player that set him apart from other designers. Mr. Spence has enjoyed bringing back the old style golf courses.
